Breezy Point Beach is a half-mile long stretch of groomed sand facing east across the Chesapeake Bay. The swimming area has a net surrounding it in the water to keep out nettles and other critters. It also has a 200-foot fishing pier. Several volleyball nets stand ready.
Just off the beach is a large picnic area shaded by cedar trees. It has picnic tables, grills and playground equipment.
The facilities include a full bath-house & changing rooms, as well as a refreshment stand.
Calvert County acquired the beach and attached campground in 1995. The county maintains about 60 parking spaces at Breezy Point Beach, but they’ll park more cars in the grass. The gates will close when parking is full, but that rarely happens on regular summer days. On holidays, the beach parking lot fills by noon.
