Fourth of July 2018 Around the Chesapeake Bay

Lots of fireworks celebrations around the upper Chesapeake Bay. Load up your boat with crew and watch from the water.

Pull up to nearly any waterfront community in Maryland and there’s one or two houses that’ll light up the night with local, but impressive fireworks displays. Or sail over to the many towns on the Bay. The fireworks start the weekend before the Forth of July!

ST. MICHAEL’S – Saturday, June 30
Take your pick – bring a blanket and take a spot along the water in St. Michaels or, anchor out on Miles River to enjoy fireworks reflected in the water. Enjoy Big Band sounds at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum beginning at 7pm.

CHESAPEAKE – Saturday, June 30 (rain date July 3)
The Town of Chesapeake presents “Fireworks Over The Bay” before Independence Day. You and your guests are invited to take a walk on the Bay Front Boardwalk, search for sharks’ teeth at Bay Front Park, and visit the nature-filled scenic “Railway Trail.”

SNOW HILL – Saturday, June 30
Come to Snow Hill’s Independence Day Celebration on June 30 from 5:30-10:00pm, which will showcase a fireworks display at Sturgis Park on River Street. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the Independence Day fireworks display at dusk.

HAVRE DE GRACE – Sunday, July 1
Havre de Grace Independence Day includes a Parade, Block Party, Amish Outlaws, Concord Point Concert, and Fantastic Fireworks! When: Sunday, July 1, 2018 starts at 2 pm

CHESAPEAKE CITY – Sunday, July 1
Chesapeake City is hosting their annual Independence Day Celebration on Sunday the 1st. Music starts live at 5:30 in Pell Gardens with fireworks around 9:00 PM

NORTH EAST – Tuesday, July 3
As a community, attendees show their support for veterans and country with a ceremonial Pledge of Allegiance and Flag Raising. Fireworks close out this afternoon and evening of patriotism and family fun. 443.553.6207.

ROCK HALL – Tuesday, July 3
See one of the best fireworks displays on the Chesapeake Bay. An annual tradition of patriotic celebration. 410-639-7611.

ANNAPOLIS HARBOR – Wednesday, July 4
Come join this patriotic salute to our nation Annapolis, with marching bands, fire engines old and new, cars and vans, service clubs and scouts! The parade heads down West Street, wrong way around Church Circle, down Main Street, left on Randall Street, and ends in front of the Market House. Once it gets dark, catch the Fireworks from Susan B Cambell Park and City Dock beginning at 9:00 PM, Wednesday, July 4, 2018.

BALTIMORE HARBOR – Wednesday, July 4
The Ports America Chesapeake Fourth of July Celebration takes place Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in the heart of downtown Baltimore at the Inner Harbor. The fireworks can be viewed from several locations downtown and in surrounding areas, including Federal Hill, Locust Point, Fell’s Point, Canton and Harbor East.

CHESTERTOWN – Wednesday, July 4
Wilmer Park is a spectacular viewing spot for the annual 4th of July fireworks shot over the Chester River. Show begins at dusk (9:20’ish.) In the event of rain, the fireworks will be delayed until there is a break in the weather; as there is no rain date. 410.778.0500.

SOLOMONS ISLAND – Wednesday, July 4
Solomons Island welcomes crowds of over 10,000 people to watch the fireworks and the decorated boat parade. Fireworks will be shot from a barge in the river between 9:15 & 9:30.

CRISFIELD – Saturday, July 7
Come to Somers Cove Marina for a family event with food, arts and crafts, a military veteran slideshow, patriotic music, kids activities, games on the beach, and finally, a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. Admission is free, but it is recommended that you bring your own lawn chair. And get there before sunset, because sunset in Crisfield is nature’s fireworks.
