The lines at Scottish Highland Creamery in Oxford just got longer. TripAdvisor has ranked it in the top ten best ice cream shops in the country, based on the reviews the travel website has received from its users.
“In the dog days of summer, there’s no better relief from the heat than a cool scoop, and the TripAdvisor community has helped identify the best ice cream shops that are worth a visit,” said Brooke Ferencsik, director of communications for TripAdvisor.
Scottish Highland Creamery is #5 five on the list. It didn’t get the most reviews, but customers uniformly rave about it. And more weight was given to reviews made this year. The creamery must be stepping up its game.
What makes Scottish Highland unique, other than extraordinarily fresh ice cream, is that they rarely duplicate flavors. They’re constantly experimenting with unusual flavor combinations.
Another ice cream shop in the region — Island Creamery on Chincoteague Island, Virginia — was #6 on the list.
