Big, beautiful, blue Chesapeake Bay crab caught… then, released

This Chesapeake Bay blue crab came to the surface just long enough to show students that they still grow big. Captain Ian Robbins with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation was out with a group of kids the end of September to teach them about the Bay. He stopped to pull up a crab trap on the Susquehanna (river) Flats and found this gigantic crab inside.

Students were amazed.

After showing the kids, Captain Robbins tossed the crab back into the water so it can live on. CBF posted the picture on Facebook when he returned.
